Dr. Leonard Kuo
Dr Leonard Kuo specialises in surgery of the knee and shoulder, joint replacement and congenital limb deficiencies. His particular interests are arthroscopic treatment of rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability and sports knee injuries.
Dr Kuo was born and educated in Sydney. After graduating from the University of Sydney in 1985, he went on to complete his Orthopaedic training in 1994. A further 2 years was spent in a part time post graduate fellowship gaining additional experience in joint replacement, shoulder surgery and paediatric orthopaedics. He has been in private practice since 1996 and his particular subspecialty interests include arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder and congenital limb deficiency.
Dr Kuo has publications in the literature at national and international level. He has presented papers at numerous local and national meetings and is actively involved in orthopaedic registrar teaching, RMO and medical student training at Sydney Children's Hospital and The Canterbury Hospitals. He is also the Department Head and RMO term supervisor at the Canterbury Hospital. Every year he travels to the Kingdom of Tonga to provide Orthopaedic Outreach services particularly in congenital club foot deformity.
Dr Kuo is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and Australian Paediatric Orthopaedic Society.
